PostDoc in Pecot Lab at Harvard Medical School, USA

The Pecot Lab in the Department of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School is seeking postdoctoral researchers interested in studying the molecular basis of precise neural connectivity. The goal of our research is to identify general molecular and cellular principles that underlie how neural networks are assembled. We address this at the level of identified cell types and synapses in the fly visual system. We are interested in the molecules that underlie how neurons distinguish each other and form synapses with appropriate partners, and in determining the gene regulatory networks that give rise to the expression of these genes in specific cell types. We employ a diverse experimental approach, involving molecular genetics, transcriptome profiling, genomics, confocal and superresolution microscopy, calcium imaging, and electron microscopy. Training in neuroscience or fly genetics is welcome but not necessary. We offer a supportive, collaborative and creative environment.
