A generous donation from the Julie-Ann Macqueen Trust will fund a PhD Social Work scholarship researching and benefit one-parent families.
Award
One award covering tuition fees at the Home/EU fee rate, a maintenance stipend of £14,000 and a research grant of £500 is on offer to applicants for PhD Social Work in the School of Social and Political Science.
One award covering tuition fees at the Home/EU fee rate, a maintenance stipend of £14,000 and a research grant of £500 is on offer to applicants for PhD Social Work in the School of Social and Political Science.
Awards are made for one year in the first instance and are renewable for up to a further two years (pro-rata for part-time students), subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Students liable to pay international fees may combine the Macqueen Scholarship with other Scholarships (such as the Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship), to cover all fee costs.
This award has been made possible by a generous donation from The Julie-Ann Macqueen Trust. Ms Macqueen played a leading role in bringing the struggles of single-parent families to the attention of the public and policy and law-makers.
Eligibility
This award is available to students intending to commence PhD Social Work study in September 2018 on either a full-time or part-time basis.
